1861-2, 1l chocolate, 2l olive bistre, 5l yellow green, and 80l rose Paris Print, and 20l blue Athens Print, typical mixed markings, all tied to piece by “1” dotted lozenge of Athens, two stamps further tied by partial Paris c.d.s., some wrinkles, the 20l somewhat toned, but a striking five-colour franking.

1861, 5 l. yellow green on greenish paper, horizontal strip of four, cancelled with ‘26’ dotted lozenge, margins touched in places and slightly into design at foot, but an uncommon multiple.

1868 (December 28), folded letter from Kerkyra (Corfu) to Pisa, franked with slightly overlapping 1862/7 5l, 20l, and 40l singles, mostly large margins, tied by ‘106’ dotted lozenge cancels, Kerkyra c.d.s. alongside, framed ‘Piroscafi Postali Italiani’ ship mail handstamp, backstamped with Brindisi and Pisa c.d.s., horizontal fold, else a fine three-colour franking.

1868/9, 8 l. rose, horizontal strip of five, ample to large margins on two sides, touched to into design slightly on others, cancelled by five strikes of Athens c.d.s., lovely bright colour, attractive.

1849 ca., KANDIYA KALESI 1265 (CASTLE OF CANDIA) all arabic negative cancellation on official cover to YERAPETRA, unrecorded on card or cover, few unimportant crease and flaw at border, otherwise fine, an Ottoman forerunner rarity and very important Crete / Greece Postal History
 

1866, 3 unpaid letters, one forwarded from Bergos via Syroz Island with tax mark ‘15’, one Kalamata via Athens with tax mark ‘20' and Syroz island with tax mark ‘28', all with additional manuscript taxes and content sent to C.S. Triest with arrivals on reverse, unusual and fine 

1891, TELGRAF VE POSTAHANE-I SALHURA (Coles-W. no.31) on 20 Para postal stationery card, vertical bend and light spots, very clear strike and scarce Greece forerunner!

1893, Telegramme ottoman cancelled "BUREAU DES POSTES & TELEGRAPHES MONT ATHOS", fold and tiny toned, some crease, otherwise fine and very clear

1896, KERKYRA 5/3, German Reich 10 Pfg postal stationery reply part, written in Corfu and clearly cancelled to Guben with arrival postmark 21/3/96, fine and unusual

1908, STANKEUI 11/10/908 (Island of Kos) on postcard bearing Turkey 20 pa. red to Smyrna with arrival mark, a very late usage of the 20 pa. 1901 issue which proves how low the volume of mail was on this island at that time, fine

1912, IOANINNA and PREVESA each clearly cancelled on company imprint cover with 2 x 20 l. blue and 20 l. blue, transit cancellations on reverse, slight traces of transport, otherwise fine

1919, Turkey 5 pia. on cover from BANDIRMA with Greek censor's label with frame "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΣΤΑΤ. ΛΟΓΟΚΡΙΣΙΑ ΠΑΝΟΡΜΟΣ" and censor's cancellation "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΣΤΡΑΤ. 1852, 8 b. white, corner strip of four, clear to very large margins, cancelled with Roma c.d.s., partial red PAID c.d.s. at lower right, a fine multiple, signed Alberto Diena, with 2014 Colla certificate.

1852, ½ b. grey blue, 2 b. olive green, and 5 b. light rose, usual mixed margins, affixed to 1852 folded cover to Modena, the 5 b. cancelled with Bologna c.d.s. (11 May), the 2 b. and ½ b. cancelled in manuscript, tying the 2 b. and 5 b., the ½ b. further tied to cover by blue Modena c.d.s., paying the 7-1/2b. rate to the Duchy of Modena, taxed upon arrival, a few trivial stains, else a most attractive three-colour franking. 1867, 2 b. “bianco verdastro”, upper left corner block of ten, showing positions 1-5 and 10-15, to good to large margins with sheet margins at top and left, large part original gum, with some light disturbance in places, pencil notations in margins, noting plate flaws visible in framelines in positions 1 and 3, a fine-very fine multiple, signed Alberto Diena. 1852, 3 b., 4 b., 5 b. and 6 b. four unused stamps. all unsused lightly hinged, fresh and fine, three signed Bühler and Raybaudi

1852, 4 b. black on gray brown (Scott 5c), unused, incredibly fresh with dividing lines on all sides, very fine. Quite on extraordinary example of this rare stamp, signed G. Bühler and A. Diena

1852, 8 b. white, block of ten, mostly good margins, into outer frameline in places, cancelled by multiple strikes of grilled lozenge obliterator, the odd small imperfection and repaired at lower left corner, but an impressive multiple, signed Alberto Diena, with 2014 Colla certificate. (Michel 9)

1852, 8 b. white horizontal pair and 50 b. blue single, tied to part 1856 cover to England by Rome c.d.s. (18 Feb), red French entry mark and PAID (20 Feb) transit on front, reverse with “Paris a Calais 2” TPO (25 Feb) and blue Newmarket double split-ring receiver (26 Feb), upper portion of back cover removed, remaining portion partially affixed to backing card, but a desirable franking, with 1963 Alberto Diena certificate. 1852, 1 s. rose carmine, ample to large margins at top and bottom, clear at left and touched at right, cancelled by straight-line “ASSICURATA” ("registered") in black, pleasing colour, a fine example, much fresher than often found and unusual with this marking, which was intended to be struck on the cover rather than as a cancel.
