1840, Victoria One Penny black QC with good margins on three sides, closed at bottom right, clear strike of the Maltese cross in red, thin at right, otherwise fine, additional 2 d. blue CG, Maltese cross in black, closed on two sides, tiny faults

1840, QV 2d. blue, plate 2, horizontal pair, lettered CK-CL, four good margins, cancelled with Maltese Cross in black, a very fine and attractive pair.

1841, QV 1 d. red-brown SL on blued paper with wmk. Small Crown,unused no gum, imperforate with good margins on three sides, closed at left, fine 

1846, One Penny red-brown RH good to large margins on three sides, touched at bottom, tied by a crisp number ´679´ cancellation to entire letter dated 27 April 1846 from St. Helens Sutton Incline Lancashire to Birmingham with arrival mark on reverse, file fold, otherwise fine.

1864-79, 1 d. red-brown plate 115 "HD-DH" uncancelled on "Cotton Report 1868" from Liverpool to Trieste with red "PD" and ms. "via Ostend", arrival mark Trieste on reverse, unusual and fine

1864-1900, 17 stamps unused, including Mi.16, 18, 40 Pl.1, 41 Pl.16, 44 Pl.13, Pl.14, 46 Pl.13, 47 Pl.11, 51 Pl.17, 62, 71, 74, 76, 78, 83ax, mostly with faults, regummed, crease or repaired, still fine group

1870, ½ d. red-brown plate 13 "XC-CX", uncancelled on preprinted London circular letter, which was obviously sent privately

1847/54, Embossed 1 s. deep green, a used vertical pair with good margins all round and showing portions of adjoining stamp at bottom, small cut between at right, in a rich shade, tied to large piece together with 1 d. red-brown and 2 d.  blue by complete strike of "LIVERPOOL 28/DE 1854 - 466" spoon obliterator (code I 14) in black. Very fine, scarce and most attractive.

1865, QV 3 d. rose “BI”, tied to entire letter by “3L GLASGOW JA/18 65 / 159” duplex, on reverse London DX JA/19 65 transit cds. in red and Amsterdam 20/1/65 arrival mark in red. On front  ´Engeland/Franco´ in black, tiny file fold, otherwise fine and fresh.

1862/64, 9 d. straw, tied by duplex "545/NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE AP 23 63" to entire letter, endorsed "via Osend" and with Hamburger transit mark, to Copenhagen. A scarce reduced rate franking. Certificate Sismondo (2002)

1865/97, QV 14 stamps with clear cancellations, tiny faults, otherwise fine and good appereance.

1870, Destination URUGUAY: 1 sh. green tied by LONDON EC X NO/21/70 -´97´ duplex to entire to Montevideo, red circle “PP” alongside, endorsed on top left ´via Bordeaux´, good perforation and fresh colour, tiny crease, otherwise fine and a scarce destination to Uruguay.

1873-80, "KLEINWORT & COHEN 19/MAR/78" cachet on folded envelope from London, bearing 2½ d. rosy mauve (flaw at bottom) tied by "95" duplex d.s., vertical file fold, otherwise fine

1880/83, 1 s. orange-brown, wmk. Imperial Crown, clear oct. cancelled, Perfins E.A.L., SG £ 170

1883/84, 1 s. dull-green EJ and 1 s. dull green BI, both clear cancelled, SG £ 535

1902/10, Edward £1 blue green, wm. three crowns, good perforation, light cancel, fine.

1912, Caledonian Railway Company 2 d. green with Edward 1 d. on cover to London and re-directed to Kent

1939 (Aug 10): Crash Mail cover and content addressed from Bootle/Liverpool to St.Gallen, carried on flight from London to Zurich that crashed at Luxeuil (Haute Saône), the envelope singed by fire. The pilot, Capt. Scott landed safely and 9 passengers escaped, but the Lockheed L-14 plane caught fire and was destroyed, only part of the mail was salvaged. The letter inside was written in Sydney N.S.W. with interesting text in german about pre-war time and economics in Australia. (Nierinck 390811a)
