“PAQUEBOT ADEN 5.OCT.35”, clear strike on 20 k. on 14 k. deep blue carmine on maritime cover to Aden with arrival postmark on reverse. Philatelic influenced, but an unusual ship cover, very fine
1865, ROPiT 2 pi. blue & rose without rose underlying below "R.O.P.iT.", fresh colour and large margins all round showing part of the cutting lines on three sides, fold in the upper part, tied by framed "P.P." in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 148) and two strikes of "COMPAGNIE RUSSE DE NAVIGATION SMYRNE" c.d.s. in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 150) to outer letter sheet to Mersina. The rare datestamp of Smyrna is described by Tchilinghirian to be used in blue and was thought to be used only on incoming mail to Smyrna which is here proved not to be the case. In spite of its faults a rare and appealing cover.

1848, Turkish Steamship Company Entire letter written in Bursa / Brousse shipped from Mudania to Constantinople struck with oval negative seal handstamp with central P.P. (Posta Pagata) in black. The first handstamp introduced by any Turkish Steamship company. Cover with filing folds and tiny toned, otherwise fine. An exceptional strike of a very scarce marking

1832, Folded letter from Rev. William Goddell to USA, written in Büyükdere Constantinople Feb 14/1832 to USA. Via forewarding agent "Care of Messrs. J. Langdon & Co. Smyrna", ms. "8" and red oneliner "SHIP", alongside red "BOSTON MS" c.d.s., Rev. William Goddell was working as a Missionary in Turkey from 1831, tiny toned, full message inside, interesting for historians
1882, CHINA to INDIA cover tied by finest strike "Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company" shipmail cancellation with content, from Shanghai to Bombay / India. An extremely rare ship letter especially in such premium condition, this strike shows every detail of the intricate design with perfect clarity. Most of the known strikes are blurry or incomplete. Even complete strikes are not as bold and strong as the example offered here, with every line of the design showing perfect detail. Showpiece for an advanced collection.
