1852, 4 b. black on gray brown (Scott 5c), unused, incredibly fresh with dividing lines on all sides, very fine. Quite on extraordinary example of this rare stamp, signed G. Bühler and A. Diena
1852, 8 b. white, block of ten, mostly good margins, into outer frameline in places, cancelled by multiple strikes of grilled lozenge obliterator, the odd small imperfection and repaired at lower left corner, but an impressive multiple, signed Alberto Diena, with 2014 Colla certificate. (Michel 9)
1852, 8 b. white horizontal pair and 50 b. blue single, tied to part 1856 cover to England by Rome c.d.s. (18 Feb), red French entry mark and PAID (20 Feb) transit on front, reverse with “Paris a Calais 2” TPO (25 Feb) and blue Newmarket double split-ring receiver (26 Feb), upper portion of back cover removed, remaining portion partially affixed to backing card, but a desirable franking, with 1963 Alberto Diena certificate. 1852, 1 s. rose carmine, ample to large margins at top and bottom, clear at left and touched at right, cancelled by straight-line “ASSICURATA” ("registered") in black, pleasing colour, a fine example, much fresher than often found and unusual with this marking, which was intended to be struck on the cover rather than as a cancel.
