1874, Forgeries Study on album page: 12 c. on 6 d. rose laid paper two stamps forged overprint Gothic VR and Twelve Cents. SG 13a with forged Roman V.R. overprint, forged stamp 1 d. blue with forged overprint and genuine stamp with forged overprint Gothic VR. Fournier forged overprint specimen, certificate APS. A very interesting study from The David Emerson Gillis Collection, for the specialist.

1876/77, Govt. Printing: 1 p. grey-blue on wove paper with monogram "VR" overprint, horizontal pair imperforate vertically, handsome mint example of this popular variety, but more important is that this is the doubly printed variety of the basic stamp as well, portions of the lighter second print show in the margins and other white areas, the pair is well centered, unused regummed, few tiny short perfs, otherwise fine and very scarce. In PROFI archive two such pairs are recorded.
