MEXICO – Bellows, Walter Clarke: Campeche. Some Notes on the Most Remarkable Postage Stamp Ever Issued (1909), 103 pages, hardbound, No. 9 of 100 books produced! Signed by the author. – One of the most remarkable and beautiful philatelic books ever published. Produced on handmade rag paper with facsimile stamps, maps, historic photographs all of which detail the provisional stamps of Mexico once belonging to author. A veritable treasure. The book is in good condition and in a special preservation box. Only the hardcover shows some patina and signs of age. Estimation: 500 Euro
MEXICO – Bellows, Walter Clarke: Campeche. Some Notes on the Most Remarkable Postage Stamp Ever Issued (New York, "1st edition” 1908)! Type written manuscript and duplicated with 77 pages, in a cardboard folder. Amrhein wrote to T. Bjäringer about this copy: “Your ‘1908’ is a real rarity. I do not know how many copies were made”. Amrhein only knew about a copy at the Smithsonian (perhaps the one of George Turner). Bjäringer's copy is signed by the author (6th Nov. 1908) and is much rarer than the version of 1909. For the time in a good condition, preserved in a bibliophile box. Estimate: 300 Euro
