Paper wrapper. Nearly good condition. Mahé and Dr. Legrand worked together very closely in the early years of the 1860s. Thus both invented the first perforation gauge with the growing interest in different perforations, but Legrand turned to watermarks as early as 1865. Then the first edition of his later study was published as series of articles in “Le Timbrophile” from April to July, 1865. The brochure by “Dr. Magnus” on watermarks is the first monograph on a specialised philatelic subject and was an inspiration for Alfred Moschkau later to write about this topic himself. A literature rarity! Estimate: 200 Euro
