1872, 1 kopek brown and 5 kopek blue, two of each, fresh colours, tied on transit by Russian post office blue cds “ALEXANDRETTA”, repeated on reverse, and an additional single pen strike, to commercial envelope from Mersina to Aleppo, handed over on transit to the Ottoman post with Turkey 1876 Duloz 1 piaster yellow, strip of five and single, paying the domestic rate and cancelled with negative seal; one adhesive folded in half on the edge of the envelope and a few short perforations, still fine. A rare and appealing mixed franking

1876, “8" on 10 kopek carmine/green, fresh colours and good perforations, neatly tied by cds “KONSTANTIN 15 JUNE (18)78” to letter sheet with content to Taganrog, reverse transit via Odessa and arrival cds “TAGANROG 20 June 1878”, fine and rare usage of the provisional issue correctly paying the 8 kopek rate

1876, Duloz 10 para lilac, tied by all arabic single circle to 'Judicial' journal to Patras, Greece, charged upon arrival and franked with postage due 10 para green/black, tied by c.d.s. "PATRAS 8 JAN 80". Pages with some age wear, still a fine and rare item. 

1876, Crescent 50 paras in horizontal pair and 10 paras, tied by blue c.d.s. "CONSTANTINOPLE 11 …1879" to registered envelope to Brighton, with transit- and arrival marks.

 

1878/1916, seven covers and postal stationery cards including one franked parcel card from Cilica, with among others 1878 cover with 1876 50 paras from Damascus to Marseille, first postal stationery card 20 para used in 1878 via Messina to Malta with arrival postmark and 1915 overprint issue 25 piaster on 200 piaster tied by cds. “GALATA 1.1.16” to money letter, mostly fine 

1863, Tughra 5 piastres reddish-brown, two singles, fresh colour and with ample to large margins, applied upon arrival and tied by Battal cancel to envelope to Istanbul, addressed in Italian, Coptic and Armenian (written in Arabic). Some imperfections to envelope, as usual. A rare high postage due charge. Cert. ISFILA (1997). 

1884/91, UPU card 20 paras, used with bilingual "BEYROUTH SEPT 9 91" via "HONG KONG OC 7 91" to Macao, with arrival mark on reverse. A most unusual Destination.

1904, K.u.K. Feldpost-Correspondenz-Klappkarte mit 25 H.-Frankatur (re. etwas beschädigt) von Plevlje (heute Montenegro) nach Augsburg mit vs. Ankunftsstpl. vom 2.9., weiters eine 20 Para-Marke Türkei (links oben Riß), die bei dem türkischen Postamt mit dem Stempel ´Tachlidja´ entwertet wurde, inseitig Abbildung verschiedener türkischer Militärs sowie eines betenden Hodza und eines Albanesen, eine sehr außergewöhnliche Frankaturkombination und sehr dekorativ! 

“SAHRA MENZIL POSTASI 1” black all arabic censorship of Turkish fieldpost in Bukarest on bank letter from the “BANK OF ROUMANIA LIMITED-BUCAREST”, bearing Germania 25 B. on 20 Pf single fine cancelled “BUKAREST 4.Jul.18” with triple censorship to the Banque Imperiale Ottoman Constantinople with arrival mark on reverse dated 23.7.18. Turkish and German censors together on cover from Bukarest are extremely scarce, in PROFI archive is only one other such combination on postal stationery recorded

1862, Tughra first printing, 5 pia. black on thin rose paper, blue control band on top, dividing lines on three sides (one tiny cut into), unused, fine and extremely scarce with such wide margins (Isfila 2)

1863, first print 5 piaster rose left margin with characteristic color missing and extraordinary margins on all sides with dividing lines, clear cancelled blue "FILIBE" in dots (Brandt-Ceylan Type IIA-4, Plovdiv / Bulgaria), little closed at bottom left corner, otherwise very fine. First printings of Tughra issue with city cancellations are great rarities of this issue and less than five from all cities are recorded

1863, Tughra, Second Printing on thin paper, 20pa black on yellow, head-to-head tete-beche block of twelve, with red control band at top and bottom, unused, with part original gum, folded along central row and column, with hinge reinforcement of minor separation, a few other small imperfections, but a remarkable block, of tremendous visual appeal, and a dramatic showpiece, ex “Sultan.”  (Isf 3 TB02)

1863, Tughra, Second Printing on thin paper, 20pa black on yellow, irregular head-to-head tete-beche block of five, red control band at top and foot, unused, with part original gum, large to very large margins on all sides including sheet margin at right, a few typical light creases common for this delicate paper, black arrow indicating frameline break adhered to block, else a fine and scarce multiple, ex “Sultan”. 1863, 20 paras yellow, first issue tete-beche pair with “Blind Print of Control Band” and shifted light print of red border, unused with full gum, full margins on all sides and fresh, a very scarce variety! (Isfila 3 BV 45)

1863, Tughra, Second Printing on thin paper, 2pi black on grey, foot-to-foot tete-beche block of four, with red control band, margins large to clear, bold cancellation in black, a fine and scarce multiple, ex “Sultan”.  (Ifs 4 TB01)

1863, 2 pia. deep blue tete-beche pair with red border print, unused with original gum, full to wide margins on all sides, fresh bright color. The colour of this issue was applied with a large brush and imperfections were later corrected with a small brush, this stamp shows two such corrections with dabs of colour, an attractive variety, very fine (Isfila 5TB02 var.)

20 Para yellow pair, third print surface coloured thick paper (miscut to left), tied by blue "Battal" (cancelled) in dots to folded envelope written 2.Recep 1281 (1865) and ms. arrival with pencil ‘1865’, from Beyrouth to Damascus, horizontal fold through the stamps, flaw repaired at left stamp, fine and scarce Syria and Lebanon forerunner and one of the latest used Tughra covers!

1864, Tughra, Third Printing on thick paper, 1pi grey-lilac, large margins at left and foot, otherwise touching to slightly into frameline, tied to folded cover from Beirut to Damascus by dotted blue handstamp, fresh and fine. (Isf 20)

1865, 20 pa. yellow in block of six, together with 1 pia. grey, tied by all Arabic double-circle 'Samakov 81' to letter sheet from Samokov to the Zahari of the  Bulgarian Church at Constantinople. Minor faults and strengthened in the cover fold. A rare and most attractive entire.Certificate ISFILA (2016)

1865, Duloz 1 pia. lilac in block of 4, tied by all arabic double circle " SAMAKOV 81" to letter sheet to the Zahari oft the Bulgarian church at Constantinople. One stamp small corner crease and cover fold backed, otherwise a fine and rare entire. Certificate Isfila (2016).

 

1867, Star & Crescent (Duloz), 25 Ghr light salmon, Type II, part original gum, heavily hinged, colour slightly oxidized, a scarce and otherwise fine example of this difficult unissued stamp; with 2015 ISFILA certificate. (Isf 38)
