1852, 1 s. rose carmine, ample to large margins at top and bottom, clear at left and touched at right, cancelled by straight-line “ASSICURATA” ("registered") in black, pleasing colour, a fine example, much fresher than often found and unusual with this marking, which was intended to be struck on the cover rather than as a cancel.
