1871,Boules de Moulins: small size entire letter from "BORDEAUX 5 JANV.71", endorsed "par Moulins (Allier)" to Paris, bearing 5 copies Bordeaux 20 c. blue, type II, cut down to the design and applied overlapped, tied by light GC "522". An exceptional and fresh entire with rare multiple franking. Certificate Enzo Diena (1985)

1870, 80 c. rose, horizontal strip of three of fresh colours and with ample to large margins, tied by GC “532 with adjacent cds ”BORDEAUX 24 FEVR. 71" to entire letter to Buenos Aires, Argentina, no arrival, very fine. Scarce Transatlantic triple weight step with the Bordeaux issue, signed and certificate Scheller (2025)

1871/73, Ceres 10 c bistre on rose, horizontal tête bêche pair, nice colour and good perforation (one stamp with small part of adjoining stamp), tied by clear GC "3056" to acknowledgement of receipt 1873 from Le Quesnoy to Solemnes and retour. Very fine and rare in this condition. Signed Calves and certificate von der Weid (1986)

A lovely and most unusual usage via the Brindisi route, certificate Scheller (2025)

1917, 35 on 35C. violet horizontal pair in mixed franking with Protectorate 5 C. green, horizontal pair and two single stamps as well as two single values 1917 architectural monuments 10C. red, tied by cds. “TRESOR ET POSTE KASBA TADLA 5 12 22” to decorative pre-printed registered cover to Warsaw, Poland, one value of the franking faulty, slight traces of transportation, otherwise good condition, a scarce destination

1902 (April 3), French Officer's letter from Algeria to Paris, endorsed in manuscript “Troupes d'occupation des oasis Sahariennes,” struck with fine Taghit double-circle c.d.s., with corresponding Taghit garrison handstamp at left, revers with Paris c.d.s. receiver and remarkably intact red wax seal, a choice example of military mail from this Oasis town.

1871, General issue 30c brown in horizontal pair (2 smal marginal tears), tied by dotted lozenge, with adjacent Guadeloupe / Pointe a Pitre c.d.s. (10 Jul) to folded letter to Portland, Maine,, passed to the British Post Office with scarce “GUADELOUOPE PAID JY 11 73”, and backstamped with “Guadeloupe / A” c.d.s. (11 Jul), manuscript “4” (pence) in red crayon for the journey to St. Thomas, endorsed “Per U.S. & Brazil Mail Str via St. Thomas”, the United States portion unpaid and thus struck with crisp “N.Y. STEAMSHIP / 10” entry mark (21 Jul). An unusual and important entire conveyed from the French P.O. in Guadeloupe by the British Agency through the USBMSC via St. Thomas. Signed Scheller

1870, Napoleon 80 c. carmine pair and 40 c. vermilion on folded envelope performing 2 fr. rate, tied by GC 2240, alongside Marseille 8/10/70 c.d.s. via port Alexandrette Syrie 20/10/70 c.d.s. on reverse, to Alep 21/10/70 c.d.s., pre UPU postal fee for Turkey 6½ piaster, so additional pair postage 10 pa. brown, postage due 1 pia. brown and 5 pia. olive brown was affixed and cancelled by all arabic ottoman HALEB 81 box type cancellation, tiny border crease, spots and ms. otherwise fine. 1922, French Levant two 3 pia. 30 pa. blue tied by RHODES TURQUIE D´ASIE 27/11/22 c.d.s. to cover, transit mark POSTES FRANCAISES CONSTANTINOPLE 13/12/22 on reverse and departed through the Ottoman P.O. 14/12/22 with machine cancel. Upon its arrival at the destination Ankara the french postage was not accepted by new Angora Government and a mix of Ottoman 3 pia. blue, Republik postage two 10 pa. brown, 3 pia. rose and postage due seven 20 pa. olive-green was applied and cancelled blue ANGORA 2-21/12/22 c.d.s. A very important Levant & Turkey mix and a marvelous cover (Isfila 1079, 1091, 1101, Yvert Lev 32)

FRANCE: 1870 (18 October), 1863 40 c. Napoleon lauree , tied to folded cover by Paris Star “8” in black, carried by the balloon “Lafayette” to Carcassonne, backstamped upon receipt on 23 October, redirected to Constantinople, reverse with c.d.s. arrival backstamp (4 November), adhesive oxidized, yet a rare destination for ballon monte mail, fine; signed Calves.

1928, Frankreich Louis Pasteur 1,50 Franc im waagerechten Paar mit Stempel “CHERBOUR 27.5.28” auf R-Vordruckbrief komplett mit Telegramm vom Dampfer “Cleveland” nach Blankenese mit Ankunftsstempel. Der Umschlag mit leichten Beförderungsspuren

Der Umschlag rechts mit Randfehlern, ansonsten in guter Erhaltung. Ozean-Briefe aus Frankreich mit komplettem Inhalt sind selten

"IN METZ EINGEGANGEN 12.3.72" in Mischfrankatur mit Frankreich Ceres 25 Centimes mit GC "2598" auf komplettem Faltbrief von "NANCY 12.MARS.72" nach Metz. Alle Marken sind farbfrisch und gut gezähnt, die obere 1 Groschen-Marke mit Schraubenkopfabdruck (SKA) und waagerechtem Knitter durch die Brieffaltung, sonst in guter Gesamterhaltung, eine dekorative Doppelfrankatur mit nicht häufiger Entwertung

2 Groschen grauultramarin mit Bahnpost-Stempel "AVRICOURT 24. 5 I STRASSBURG i. ELSASS" auf komplettem Faltbrief mit Frankreich Ceres 25 Centimes mit GC "1576" von "FRAIZE 23.MAI.72" nach Mühlhausen mit Hufeisen-Ankunftsstempel in einwandfreier Erhaltung. Aus französischer Sicht trat der neu geschlossene Postvertrag erst am 25.5.1872 in Kraft, daher ist diese Doppelfrankatur richtig frankiert. Interessanter und sehr später Brief mit Doppelfrankatur aus Frankreich, in dieser Form sehr selten, Fotoatteste Hennies (1978) und Krug BPP (2010)

¼ Groschen grauviolett, drei Einzelwerte mit Hufeisenstempel "STRASSBURG i. ELS.BHF 31.DECBR.74" (Spalink 36-4) auf komplettem Drucksachen-Faltbrief der Deutschen Unions-Bank mit rotem Handstempel "PD" nach Bordeaux mit Ankunftsstempel. Die Marken sind besonders farbfrisch, sehr gut geprägt und üblich gezähnt, eine seltene Mehrfachfrankatur und bislang einmalige Auslandsdrucksache nach Frankreich vom letzten Gültigkeitstag der 1⁄4 Groschen-Marken großer Schild

2 Groschen grauultramarin im senkrechten Viererstreifen mit EKr. "HANNOVER 30.5.74" auf eingeschriebenem Briefkuvert der 2. Gewichtsstufe mit rotem Handstempel "P.D." und französischem Transitstempel via Paris nach Lyon mit Ankunftsstempel. Die farbfrischen Marken des Viererstreifens sind gut geprägt, üblich gezähnt und in einwandfreier Erhaltung. Eine attraktive, tarifgerechte und seltene Mehrfachfrankatur mit 6 Groschen Beförderungs- und 2 Groschen Rekommandationsgebühr, Fotoattest Krug BPP (2009)

9 Kreuzer dunkelbraun mit klarem EKr. "FRANKFURT A.M. N2 24.7.73" auf Briefkuvert mit rotem Handstempel "P.D" und französischem Transitstempel nach Millau, Frankreich mit Ankunftsstempel. Die farbfrische Marke ist sehr gut geprägt, gut gezähnt und in einwandfreier Erhaltung, der fehlerhafte Umschlag wurde links oben ergänzt. Nicht häufige tarifgerechte Einzelfrankatur mit dieser seltenen Farbe, doppelt signiert Pfenninger und Fotoattest Brugger BPP (1997)

1915, 10 Pfg., farbfrisch und gut gezähnt, sauber mit Stempel “ANECHO 4/1” auf Briefstück, oben winzig unfrisch, sonst tadellos
