W.; March 18, 1872, London, held by Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge, at No. 13 Wellington Street, Strand, twelve pages, comprising 275 lots, a few pages separated, including the cover, stored in a custom archival box, a historically important sale of great rarity, being the first philatelic auction conducted in the United Kingdom, and the first held outside of the United States, organized following Scott's four pioneering sales in the U.S. Estimate: 300 Euro

Scott Stamp Co., Walter S.; New York, 1896, Auctions 1, 2, 4, and 5, the last two handstamped “PRICED” on front cover, with prices realised printed alongside lots, stored in a custom archival folder, superior quality for these important early sales. Estimate: 200 Euro

Sekula, Béla; Lucerne, 1927/1932, comprising sales 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 (both Finland and world catalogues), 8, 9 (hardbound), 11, 13, 14, 15, 21, 23, 25 (with the special Konsul Schwabe catalogue), 27, 30, 32, 33, 35, 38, 39, 41, and 43, all but sale 27 with the accompanying volume of photo plates, accompanied by a small group of covers with Béla Sekula corner cards, minor flaws in places, but a remarkable holding, particularly rare with the photo plates, a tremendous challenge to assemble. Shanahan's (1957–1959) Vol. 49-102, not quite complete, incl. Vol. 100 ‘Millionaires Sale’ in original shipping envelope and the last carried out sale Vol. 102 ‘The first two portions of the Burrus Collection Great Britain and the Netherlands’ from the Maurice Burrus collection, of which the collection Lombardo Veneto was stolen, and including the associated 'catalogue of postage stamps stolen from Shanahan’s', all in very good condition. A highly interesting and useful reference group of the most successful auction house in Ireland, housed in one carton. Estimate: 600 Euro

Ventom, Bull & Cooper; 1889-1911, a near-complete run from #1-136, missing only a few sales, and a smaller group of sales from 1906-11, offered with Thomas Bull, 1890-92 sales #19-32 (some damaged), and William Ridout 1894-95, 3 sales,  replete with hand-noted prices realised, catalogues have been dis-bound from hardbound volumes and show commensurate flaws, but a rare run of early catalogues of one of the most signficant auction firms of the period.  Estimate: 800 Euro
