1879, postal stationery card 10 centimes red used from “PHILIPPOPELI 26.I.87” to Dedeagach with Turkey 1 piaster blue, tied by violet bilingual cds. “DEDEGATCHE”, card lightly toned and with few spots, otherwise fine. Bulgarian stamps were not recognized by the Ottoman Empire after the annexation of Eastern Rumelia by Bulgaria in 1885, a rare mixed franking

1748, entire letter, written in French language, from Sofia to Marseille, showing slight traces of desinfection. Tiny part of inner text sheet missing (most likely removed by opening), otherwise very fine. The earliest recorded letter from Bulgaria in private hands. Opinion Todd AIEP     

1761, entire disinfected letter from Plovdiv to Rome, Papal States, written in Italian, endorsed on reverse "Profumato di Fuori". A fine and rare early letter.     

"SOFIA PALACE 5.XII.902", blue cds. clear on 1901 Ferdinand 1 l. and 50 c. on large-size registered envelope to Coburg, Germany, with arrival mark. On reverse nice wax seal of the secret cabinet of the Prince. The highest recording franking of Palace mail.  Opinion Hitzler

1878, Russo-Turkish war, "POLEVOE POCHTTOVOE OTDELENIE 26 MAR 1867", clear strike on lettersheet with reverse side paper seal of the 45th Infantry Battalion. Very fine and scarce. Opinion Todd AIEP (2016) 

1865, 20 pa. yellow in block of six, together with 1 pia. grey, tied by all Arabic double-circle 'Samakov 81' to letter sheet from Samokov to the Zahari of the  Bulgarian Church at Constantinople. Minor faults and strengthened in the cover fold. A rare and most attractive entire.Certificate ISFILA (2016)

1865, Duloz 1 pia. lilac in block of 4, tied by all arabic double circle " SAMAKOV 81" to letter sheet to the Zahari oft the Bulgarian church at Constantinople. One stamp small corner crease and cover fold backed, otherwise a fine and rare entire. Certificate Isfila (2016).

 

1873, Duloz 10 pa. lilac (dry print) and 3 copies 1875, 20 pa. green and postage due 1869, 2 pia. yellow-brown, tied by all arabic double circle " RUSCUK 81" to envelope (reverse flap and lower right corner missing) to the Danube district. And attractive and rare combination franking of three issues. Opinion Todd AIEP. Ex Passer, Karaivanoff and Heimbüchler.   
 
 

1873, Duloz 10 pa. in horizontal pair and 1876, 1 pia., tied by all arabic double circle "HEZARGRAD", to entire letter to Varna. A fine and rare letter. Signed Nakri with certificate (Isfila RR)  

1875, 20 pa. green and 1 pia. yellow, tied by "TATARPAZARI" all arabic double circle to reverse of envelope to Deraliye, here franked with 'Sehir' 1 pia. yellow, tied by light bilingual „BAGHSCHE CAPUSSI“. The envelope somewhat roughly opened with small parts at bottom missing, still fine and attractive.  Certificate ISFILA (2015)

Duloz 1 pia. yellow and pair 10 pa. lilac, used with dull blue all arabic double circle "Cirpan" on entire letter to Constantinople, few minor imperfections, still very fine and rare. Signed Nakri, opinion Todd AIEP  (Isfila RR)

1940, Zar Boris III. 7 Lev mit Maschinenstempel “TIRNOVA…8.45” auf Brief, adressiert an eine Frau im Straflager “TWO Zeleni-Dol” mit handschriftlichem Vermerk “Durch den Kommandanten” und Eingangszensur mit Datum “26.VIII.1945” und Unterschrift, in guter Erhaltung. Im Lager wurden knapp über 200 Deutsche inkl. Frauen, die mit bulgarischen Bürgern verheiratet waren, selten

BULGARIA: 1845/76 (ca.), almost 120 covers, letters and postal forms with a variety of postal and official seal cancels, including many scarce and rare strikes, like "An Canib-i Postahane-i Samakov 1274", "AN CANIB-I POSTA-I TIRNOVA", "An Canib-i Posta Ruscuk 265“, "Postahane-I Sofya 1278", "AN CANIB-I POSTAHANE-I ZAGRA-I ATIK 272", "POSTAHANE-I SUMNU 1278", "POSTAHANE-I KIZANLIK 1278“, etc, etc. One of the most extensive collections of this kind. Almost all items with certificate/opinion.

1851, FILIBE with crescent (Postahane-i Filibe 1278) (Coles-Walker no.17,Plovdiv, RRR) very clear cancellation on prefilatelic folded envelope to Constantinopoli, at upper left notation of weight 3 dirhem / postal charge 6 piastre in manuscript for registration fee. Blue all arabic ‘registered’ alongside, usual file fold, otherwise fine. PROFI has not recorded any further registered mail from Plovdiv with this cancellation
