“BASRA” (Coles & Walker no.43, RRR*) cancellation on 1876 cover with 20 Para green / violet to Kermanchah / Irak with arrival mark on reverse, shortened on top and corner flaw, this cancellation is unknown on cover at Isfila, great rarity of Turkey & Iraq postal history
“KERYE BACHI (BAGDAD)” Turkish cancellation (Isf. no.2) on telegram form. A scarce ottoman forerunner, very clear cancelled

"CAIFFA 1 - 12/2/18" bilingual octogonal d.s. (Coles-Walker no. 60, Haifa) on envelope to Berlin with transit marks Beyrouth and Stamboul on reverse, fine and scarce
"DJENINE 2.6.18" (Coles-Walker no.67) on back of registration receipt bearing 5 paras on 10 paras block of 22 stamps showing six clear strikes of this scarce cancellation (20 points). On front black all arabic oneliner "the registration fee was paid in stamps" used in Djenine, tiny spots, unrecorded. The receipt was mounted in a registration booklet and is roughly turn off, otherwise fine. A very interesting postal history document of Palestine

1899, registered cover written in Bethlehem bearing four 20 Para violet on front and reverse illustrating 2 Piaster rate, each tied by "JERUSALEM 14/AVR/99" c.d.s., "JERUSALEM PALESTIN R No. 528 KUDÜS TAAHHÜT" bilingual registration mark alongside (Bale RC-T6), usage on mail from Bethlehem unrecorded, very scarce Turkey & Palestine forerunner

(Coles-Walker no.89) on censored envelope to Galizien via Beirut (10.4.18) and Stamboul (28.4.18) bearing 1915 Provisional 10 pa. block of four and single, framed Constantinople censor mark and Beyrouth censor with crescent/star, sender cachet ‘Simon Steinholz Saffed Palestine’ on reverse, vert. crease, otherwise fine, an attractive cover
“REMLE” segmented c.d.s. (2.10.909) in black on official stamples envelope to JAFFA with arrival mark on reverse, all arabic REMLE COURT violet mark on both sides, tiny toned and some border faults, shortened on two sides, otherwise a fine strike. (Steichele = 43/03)
"YAFA" (Jaffa, Coles-Walker no.136) clear deep blue cancellation on 20 Para brown postage due, very fine and scarce
1915, YAFA SANSÜR OLUNMUSDUR extremely fine strike of Jaffa Star and Crescent censor h.s. in violet (CM3 type, unlisted in Collins) on cover bearing 1914 10 pa. green and 20 pa. brown cancelled by octagonal “Jaffa/5” d.s. (Steichele = 22/17 + 22/32). Addressed to Clerc at department of accountancy Jerusalem with arrival mark 28/9/331 (1915) some crease and faults, backflap missing. PROFI archive has only two other covers recorded, this censorship was only used for domestic mail.

1891, Coat of arms issue 1 pi. blue, tied by double circle all arabic "MEDINE-I MÜNEVERE" handstamp in black (Coles & Walker fig. 28+29) to envelope to Der-Aliye (Istanbul) with arrival mark on reverse, stamp cut out and replaced (as often seen at this corrospondonce), tiny crease, otherwise fine. A very scarce Saudi Arabia forerunner
1930 (Sept 2):, 'American Legion Convention / International Flight' card franked by Washington 2 c. red tied by Boston slogan cancel, mailed on the Russell Boardman / John Polando flight that was delayed, initially for nearly a year, with eventual acceptance datestamp on reverse of ISTANBUL in black (July 30, 1931). The card is signed by the Pilot, Russell Boardman, on reverse, the ´Cape Cod´ flew direct from New York to Istanbul / Turkey in a flying time of 50 hours and 8 minutes for the 5´011 mile journey. Extremely rare flight from both the American and Turkish point of view. (Muller #343 = 20´000 pts)
