1871/76, Luis 80 reis orange, tied by barred oval "100" with adjacent oval "OVAR", to lettersheet, endorsed “por Vapor ‘Jerome’”, to Para, Brazil, with reverse side c.d.s. "CORREIO DE LISBOA 22 JAN 77". The stamp with unobtrusive corner crease, otherwise fine. A rare rate which was valid only during the year before Brazil's UPU membership and only for mail carried on Portuguese or private ships.
