1892/1914, Russian Ship Mail collection of 50 covers and cards including steamships illustrated postcards, many clear strikes with a fine range of postmarks types and serial numbers, all arranged by shipping lines with their reverse directions, noted Astrakhan-Nizhni, Batum-Odessa (including the earlier single cds. types with serial “1” and “7”), scarcer Odessa-Alexandrovsk, Kazan-Astrakhan, Perm-Nizhni, Rybinsk-Nizhni, also cds. “PAQUEBOT HULL SP 5 09” tying 2 k. pair to postcard to England, etc., except for the occasional fault, overall in good and fresh condition. A usefull group, neatly housed and expertly described on album pages
1899/1900, Provisional Registration Labels, 32 registered covers all sent abroad, some scarcer label types noted with “YAMBURG”, “MYSOBAYA”. “SIMFEROPOL”, one-line violet handstamp “KUTEYNIKOVO”, “DERBENT”, “ROSTOV”, “BREST LITOVSK”, “NEMIROV”, “CHITA”, also St Petersburg, Moscow, Odessa, etc., also better destinations with Jerusalem, New South Wales and Egypt, overall in good condition, an appealing specialist lot

1944, first flight registered cover from Moscow to Damascus, Teheran Conference 3 r. and 30 k. tied by MOSCOW 17.1.44 c.d.s., french Poste Aux Armees 21.1.1.1944 arrival mark on reverse, additional markings including bilingual France Libre Mission Militaire en U.R.S.S. and red FF cachet, violet french censor Syria. Fine and scarce
“NAGASAKI 18.NOV.97 JAPAN” cds. on Russia 1897 7 k. blue and 3 k. carmine-rose on cover originating from Vladivostok with boxed "PAQUEBOT" and YOKOHAMA 22.11.97 c.d.s. alongside, via "Gensen", Korea (where the Paquebot) was applied, forwarded to Hannover, very fine, with arrival postmark 8/12/97. A very rare ship cover
“PAQUEBOT ADEN 5.OCT.35”, clear strike on 20 k. on 14 k. deep blue carmine on maritime cover to Aden with arrival postmark on reverse. Philatelic influenced, but an unusual ship cover, very fine
1922, Chita issue 10 kop. blue and red, wide margins on all sides, tied by clear “CHITA VOKTZ 31.7.22” to Esperanto cover, on reverse transit mark Moscow and violet “TRANSBAJKALA SOCIETO ESPERANTO”, addressed to Frankfurt, tiny border crease, otherwise fine and attractive
1908/12, SHANGHAI POSTE RUSSE cancellations on 19 stamps and pairs on piece, including margin stamps, fine lot
1865, ROPiT 2 pi. blue & rose without rose underlying below "R.O.P.iT.", fresh colour and large margins all round showing part of the cutting lines on three sides, fold in the upper part, tied by framed "P.P." in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 148) and two strikes of "COMPAGNIE RUSSE DE NAVIGATION SMYRNE" c.d.s. in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 150) to outer letter sheet to Mersina. The rare datestamp of Smyrna is described by Tchilinghirian to be used in blue and was thought to be used only on incoming mail to Smyrna which is here proved not to be the case. In spite of its faults a rare and appealing cover.
