1875, 1 drachma black/green, tied by Athens c.d.s. to envelope from Vienna 1894 to Athens, franked on reverse with strip of five 1890, 2 kreuzer. Charged postage due because the franking was on the reverse, which was contrary to Greek PO rules. Very fine and very scarce.

1876, Duloz 10 para lilac, tied by all arabic single circle to 'Judicial' journal to Patras, Greece, charged upon arrival and franked with postage due 10 para green/black, tied by c.d.s. "PATRAS 8 JAN 80". Pages with some age wear, still a fine and rare item.
1861/1881, Large Hermes Heads, postal history group of sixteen items, wide range of frankings and printings represented, typical mixed margins, with single frankings of the 20 l. (x6) and 40 l. (x2), three-colour franking on 1875 cover to Trieste, appealing four and five colour frankings, 1 l. strip of five (on stamp torn) on newspaper, etc, condition varies, but a useful group.
1861/1895, Hermes Head study, mint and used, organized in a stockbook, over three hundred stamps, with the vast majority of the emphasis being on the Large Hermes Heads, beginning with 1861 Paris Print and progressing through subsequent printings, these later printings with more duplication within denominations, some slightly mixed condition but a much fresher lot overall than typically found in such holdings, largely fine or better, with potential for postmark interest, ideal for further study of these complex classic issues.

1871 (16 Sep), cover to Pireo, Greece, franked with 80 c. lilac of Italy, tied by segmented grid cancel and postmarked with Messina c.d.s. despatch, handstamped ‘Affrancatura / Insufficiente’, “50” due in red manuscript, affixed with 10 l. orange and 40 l. lilac on blue, tied by Pireo c.d.s., back flap remove, repaired tear at top, a scarce mixed franking.
1861-2, 1l chocolate, 2l olive bistre, 5l yellow green, and 80l rose Paris Print, and 20l blue Athens Print, typical mixed markings, all tied to piece by “1” dotted lozenge of Athens, two stamps further tied by partial Paris c.d.s., some wrinkles, the 20l somewhat toned, but a striking five-colour franking.
1861, 5 l. yellow green on greenish paper, horizontal strip of four, cancelled with ‘26’ dotted lozenge, margins touched in places and slightly into design at foot, but an uncommon multiple.
1868 (December 28), folded letter from Kerkyra (Corfu) to Pisa, franked with slightly overlapping 1862/7 5l, 20l, and 40l singles, mostly large margins, tied by ‘106’ dotted lozenge cancels, Kerkyra c.d.s. alongside, framed ‘Piroscafi Postali Italiani’ ship mail handstamp, backstamped with Brindisi and Pisa c.d.s., horizontal fold, else a fine three-colour franking.
1868/9, 8 l. rose, horizontal strip of five, ample to large margins on two sides, touched to into design slightly on others, cancelled by five strikes of Athens c.d.s., lovely bright colour, attractive.
1849 ca., KANDIYA KALESI 1265 (CASTLE OF CANDIA) all arabic negative cancellation on official cover to YERAPETRA, unrecorded on card or cover, few unimportant crease and flaw at border, otherwise fine, an Ottoman forerunner rarity and very important Crete / Greece Postal History
1866, 3 unpaid letters, one forwarded from Bergos via Syroz Island with tax mark ‘15’, one Kalamata via Athens with tax mark ‘20' and Syroz island with tax mark ‘28', all with additional manuscript taxes and content sent to C.S. Triest with arrivals on reverse, unusual and fine
1891, TELGRAF VE POSTAHANE-I SALHURA (Coles-W. no.31) on 20 Para postal stationery card, vertical bend and light spots, very clear strike and scarce Greece forerunner!
