1880, “POSTAHANE-I SHAM 1279” Folded envelope from Damas to Beyrouth with pair and single 20 Pa. green, all tied by clear all arabic "POSTAHANE-I SHAM 1279" to Beyrouth (Isfila no.2, R), unrecorded green oneliner “Damas Le 24 Mars 1880” alongside, right stamp of pair showing plate flaw missing ‘20’ (white tablet), light fold and tiny toned, otherwise fine, scarce and very attractive Syria postal history.

1896, TELGRAF VE POSTAHANE-I HALEB 1319 (A&P no.16) violet cancellation on telegraph, usual file fold, clear and in this colour a very scarce cancellation of early Syria & Turkey

1860, 60 c. dull lilac (shades), the complete re-plating of the Transfer of 12 Types showing 24 stamps including Lee "A" numbers, Sc. 13 (24), all used with black, red or blue cancellations including "Mercedes", most struck with the Salto negative handstamp in black. A scarce study, condition most fine to very fine, a scarce offer!

1866, Numerals 20 c. rose, fresh colour and even large margins, tied by barred oval "2" with adjacent French octagonal "MONTEVIDEO PAQ.FR.J No.1/ 11 JUIN 74" to letter sheet to Bordeaux. Very fine. Certificate Rocha (2008)

1851/57, 12 c. black, a pair and a single, margins in places and right-hand stamp lightly creased, tied by neat „DU BUQÜE JUL 29 1857“ datestamp to yellow envelope routed via New York American Packet (August 1, 1857) and „Prussia closed Mail“, „AACHEN 13.8. / FRANCO“ datestamp and „Franco Preuss. resp.Vereins. Ausg(angs)-Gr(enze)“ instructional marking alongside, to „Zillis, Ct. Bünden, Schweiz, Europa“, tiny border crease and rough opened at left, otherwise fine and attractive.

1858, Folded tissue-paper envelope bootlegged from Smyrna, Turkey to Boston, carried by Capt. Watson ‘Ship Henry Hill’ with 122 bales madder roots, ms. “Via Trieste” inside, letter with embossing and black sender cachet F.C. Blackler Smyrna on reverse. At arrival in US Franklin 1 c. blue type V tied by black “PAID” in circle to envelope and red “Boston Mass. Nov/12” arrival cds. on front. Tiny file fold, otherwise Very Fine and a scarce usage.

1893, Columbian Exposition 2 c. tied by special machine cancel “WOLD'S FAIR STATION CHICAGO 1893 OCT.23” to underfranking advertising cor “Der Deutsche General-Komisser California Midwinter International Exposition” with tax mark “T 1/15” to Dresden, Germany with arrival mark

1893, Columbian Exposition 2 c. tied by machine cancel “CHICAGO ILL. APR.3.1893” to Sharp & Smith advertising cover “World's Columbian Exposition Chicago 1893” to New York with arrival mark, fine

1863, letter from Buenos Aires to Boston, mailed with the branch packet “Mersey” to the “Magdalena” in Rio de Janeiro; on 11.7.1963 the ship left Southampton, with arrival on 6.8.1963. The weight was 2 oz., noted “96” being 4-times the 24 c. debit on the U.S. Post Office for a letter across the Atlantic by an American Packet, “via Southampton” in manuscript. In Queenstown, it caught the Inman Line ship “City of Washington” on 6.8.1963, with arrival cds. “BOSTON AM. PKT. AUG 18”. Charged $1.80 in silver coins and $2.20 in banknotes (noted 1,80 / 2,20 in U.S. NOTES). Scarce two-time Atlantic-crossing and highest known postal rate of a maritime depreciated currency cover. Cert. Coast Line Stage Company, six horse drawn stagecoach design, on cover franked with 3c green Bank Note, tied by cork cancel, postmarked San Jose (1 Apr), with original enclosure on matching illutrated letterhead,  (aside from the removal of "Coast Line Stage Co / F.B. & C." on the coach), datelined "San Jose, Mch 31, 1874", written by William Buckley, Superintendent of the company, to Dr. Thomas Flint, one of the firm's owners, roughly opened at left, but a rare cover, particularly desirable with the enclosure sent between two principal figures in the firm.

Everts, Wilson & Co's Express, Paid, 1861, ornamental printed frank on 3c. Nesbitt postal stationery cover, struck with large blue oval “Everts, Davis & Co's Express / Forbestown / Feb 27 1861”, with year in manuscript, alongside blue oval “Wells, Fargo & Co / Marysville / Feb 28” datestamp, or Oroville, California, slightly reduced at left, otherwise quite fresh, a rare Everts & Wells Fargo conjunctive use, illustrating the connection in Marysville, of which only a small number of examples are recorded.

"VIA PANAMA" directive with illustrated sidewheel steamship design, 1860 (April 5), with imprint of Geo H. Bell, stationer, franked with 1859 10c green, tied by neatly-struck San Francisco c.d.s., to New York, reduced at top and sides and repaired in places, a few small edge tears, but a scarce illustrated route directive, with 1979 Philatelic Foundation certificate.

1867, folded letter with c.d.s  “LA GUAYRA 4.JUIN67”, endorsed “via St. Nazaire” and handstruck “20” (decimés) plus French ship c.d.s. “LIGNE-A PAQ.FR. No. 1 9.JUIN.67” on reverse to Bordeaux with arrival mark, fine

1951, Ho Chi Minh 2 d. brown, type I, fresh colours, tied by cds. “QUANG TRI VIETNAM” to small envelope to a city in the Quang Tri province, the adhesive revalued at 20 dong (tariff of late 1950/early 1951), alongside VNDCCH red censor “IV5”, mail seized in the interzone by French army (blue and red pencil marks), very rare usage

1945, Independence Issue, 1 c., 3 c., 6c., 10 c. and 15 c. tied by cds . “HA-NOI TRUNG-UONG 8 11 46” to local envelope, fine, also a second local envelope with combination franking used with “HANOI R.P. TONKIN”, some occasional perf toning otherwise fine

Rhein/Main: 1912, Gelber Hund 1 M., drei Einzelwerte und Germania 5 Pfg. je mit Flugstempel “Darmstadt 22.6.12” auf sogenannter “Roter Hund”-Karte. Die Karte oben mit kleinen Randbügen, ansonsten in einwandfreier Erhaltung (Sieger 13b)

1927, First Flight Jinja - Kisumu, cover from Jinja addressed to Nairobi with arrival mark, with the special red cachet "AIR MAIL UGANDA * SUDAN 1ST FE 12 27", on reverse red cachet "KENYA-SUDAN 1 ST AIR MAIL FE 12 27" which was applied in Kisumu, the addressee is believed to be G.R. Martin, at that time Assistant Post Master General in Nairobi, with rare Airmail label, tiny ink toned, otherwise fine and very scarce with only four covers flown (Newall 27.05 bl).

Dazu “Wein-Karte” der Restauration Luftschiff-Halle mit acht eingeklebten Fotos, u.a. von der Victoria Luise

1929, 1. Amerikafahrt, Rückfahrt von Curs, Postkarte mit Frankreich 2 Fr. und Poststempel “PARIS 22.5.29” zugeleitet an das Luftschiff mit eigenhändiger Unterschrift von Dr. Eckener, Bordstempel vom 23.5.1929 und vorderseitigem Ankunftsstempel “FRIEDRICHSHAFEN LUFTPOST 24.MAI.29”. Dann Neuaufgabe mit Freimarke 5 Pfg. im Paar mit Stempel “FRIEDRICHSHAFEN 27.5.29” nach Paris befördert, in einwandfreier Erhaltung. Eine besonders attraktive Karte und seltenste Variante zur Dokumentation der Rückfahrt, es wurden nur 10 Karten in dieser Art befördert

1929, 1. Amerikafahrt, Brief mit Sondermarke 4 M. und Tagesstempel “FRIEDRICHSHAFEN 16.MAI.29” sowie Verzögerungsstempel in Rot, später befördert mit Ankunftsstempel vom 5.8.1929. Dann neu aufgegeben mit amerikanischer Frankatur und Poststempel “NEW YORK 9.5.1929” für die Rückfahrt “Lakehurst - Friedrichshafen” mit amerikanischem Sonderbestätigungsstempel der Weltrundfahrt und Ankunftstempel vom 10.8.1929, adressiert nach  Deggendorf. Interessante Kombination mit der Rückfahrt auf einem Brief

Dann Neuaufgabe mit Sondermarke 2 M. mit Bordpoststempel vom 2.9.1929" adressiert an sich selbst in Friedrichshafen mit Ankunftsstempel, in guter Erhaltung. Eine ungewöhnliche und nicht häufige Kombination (Mi.-Nr. 32f)

1929, Weltrundfahrt, japanische Post der Etappe Tokio - Friedrichshafen, Vordruckbrief mit rückseitigem Absender “Walter Bruggmann P.O. Box. 1314 Manila, Philippine Islands” und Freimarken 10 S. und 5 Y. mit Stempel “TOKIO JAPAN 21.8.29” sowie rotem Postsonderstempel via “FRIEDRICHSHAFEN 4.9.29” nach Zürich. Der Umschlag leicht fleckig, ansonsten ein attraktiver Brief, sign. A. Diena (Mi.-Nr. 32Ea)

1931, 3. Südamerikafahrt, brasilianische Post, R-Karte von "PERNAMBUCO 22.X.31" mit u.a. Probedruck "2.500 auf 3000 Reis" der Zeppelin-Ausgabe via Friedrichshafen nach Lorch, adressiert an Selma Sieger. Der Probedruck hat größere und breitere Ziffern und es fehlt der Punkt zwischen "2" und "5" sowie das Wort "REIS" und ist in tadelloser Erhaltung. Altbekanntes Unikat und große Zeppelin-Seltenheit, bisher ist kein weiteres Exemplar bekannt, ausführliches Fotoattest Sieger A.I.E.P. (2007)

1929, 4 RM Zeppelin mit markantem Plattenfehler "Punkt zwischen R und K in Reichsmark", mit Normalmarke in MeF auf geflogenem Zeppelinbrief der Weltrundfahrt 1929, BORDPOST 16.8.29, Absender Basel, rückseitig Ankunftsstempel Los Angeles 26.8.29, sauber.

1931, Ägyptenfahrt: Doppelkarte Hin- und Rückfahrt, Bordpost 10.4. mit 1 Mk Rheinstein, die Rückfahrt als ägyptische Post mit 100 M. Zeppelin und SST Cairo 11.4. mit Ankunft Friedrichshafen 13.4., adressiert nach Romanshorn, tadellos.
