JAPAN – Peplow, F. J.: Plates of the Stamps of Japan 1871–1876 (1910). XV + 107 pages, in special ringbinder. One of the famous rarities of philatelic literature. This is No. 4 of 25 copies issued in December 1910, signed by the author. This publication was never available for purchase, only “in private circulation”. According to the list of subscribers inside this copy belonged perhaps to A. R. Barrett. In addition to 107 single plates of entire stamp sheets from 1871–1876, it contains 14 untrimmed pages that had to be cut by the purchaser or their bookbinder and then bound into a cover of their choice. This has not been done in this copy. Very very rare like this. Estimate: 4.000 Euro
